SHARYN FIREMAN

Designer  -   Decorator  -  Innovator

Making the leap to jewelry design was a natural fit for Sharyn Fireman.

As an interior designer, she uses her knowledge and skill in defining both texture and color to create her collections. Having travelled the world, she incorporates finds from faraway places. Inspiration can be from Burmese monks draped in golden and red colored robes, 14th C Mogul gems of India with roughncut rubies and emeralds, vintage cameos bound by coral, pearls, tiger's eye and other unique gemstones.

With a sense of humor and drama, she encourages her clients to enhance their wardrobes in elegant ways that are sophisticated whether wearing jeans or evening wear.

"My beads, ancient coins, and vintage brooches will sit on my work bench until inspiration comes. Sometimes the moon, the sound of a child's giggle, even the feel of a freshly groomed puppy will be a catalyst for innovation."

FROM INTERIOR DESIGNER TO JEWELRY DESIGN

Sharyn made the iconic leap from interior designer to jewelry design in 2007. She was encouraged by her social circle to style their uptown looks with fabulous modern jewelry. With sculptural brio, drama and ingenuity, Fireman brings her visionary aesthetic, sensibility and humor to her designs.

In 2005 she sought to develop designs that were neither 18K and diamonds nor stringing beads as a craft, so Fireman developed contacts with New York gemologists who cut her stones: citrine, smokey topaz, rubelite, peridot, coral, and pearls for critically perfect stones.

This is labor intensive, but certainly paid off. As a trunk show jeweler for Bloomingdale's, Madison Avenue boutiques and then a move to Miami Beach, she soon developed a private clientele.

Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey discovered her jewels and style sensibility in late 2007. As LVMH owns 60% of the Duty-Free shops aboard high-end cruise ships, she became a regular jewelry vendor with her own store on REGENT, CELEBRITY, HOLLAND AMERICA, SILVER SEAS, and soon CUNARD.

Traveling the world was part of her MoJo as for 27 years, she and her partner have been to five continents, traveling a month at a time to soak up the infuences of the architecture, culture and history of foreign exotic lands. Ancient beads from Tibet, Africa, and Thailand are often features incorporated in her compositions.

Her designs have made the runway for NY FASHION WEEK: BRYANT PARK many times since 2008, even working with "Essie" founder Elaine Weingarten in developing colorways for her fall polishes.

IN THE NEWS

From global fashion magazine, lucire...

SHARYN FIREMAN is an iconoclast, no doubt about it. Raised in a very well-to-do, conservative, Midwestern family, Sharyn grew up in an environment in which bragging about labels and one’s money was verboten. These days, should you be lucky enough to get an invitation to dinner, you might find ‘a CEO who’s come in on his private plane and the gal who sold me my bag at Bergdorf at my table,’ she laughs, over a glass of wine at Grand Central Terminal’s Cipriani Bar...

This redhead dame has done it all. She was Penny in Love of Life for one season, an interior designer, a General Merchandise Manager for R. H. Stern (she worked for Abe and Barbara Goodman) in Boston and was responsible for turning it into ‘a fashion store’. She’s also owned a custom bridal gown business in Boston, and an international telecom business with offices based in Delhi and Boston. To all of that, add a stint working for Sarah Fredericks, previously one of the most prestigious retail stores in the USA...

Her philosophy is simple. ‘Be comfortable enough with your own spirit and decide if a piece is right for you. Everyone has an inner diva, bring the inner diva out! You don’t have to be pretentious to have fun!’ There’s a motto to live by!
